A movie which i always missed whenever it was shown in *star movies*.Always saw only the ending & finally i get to see the movie completely after such a long time..A very very touching,light hearted comedy, romance.The film is about family and relationships.

Life Is Beautiful,an Italian language film, tells the story of an Italian Jew (Guido) played by Roberto Benigni. Benigni plays a very simple person absorbed in his own world. He meets his fairy princess to whom he gets married and together they have a son Joshua. Then one day their life takes a sudden twist when Guido and Joshua are whisked away in a truck to a concentration camp. The central theme of the story unfolds at the camp with Guido trying to convince Joshua that everything happening around him is all part of a game. Eager to hide the realities of life in a concentration camp from Joshua, he creates a new reality. Guido explains to his son that he has to make 1000 points to win the tank that he always dreamt of. He explains to his son that the Nazis aren’t really bad people but that they are just the opponents in the game. This existentialism of Guido shields Joshua from the painful realities of Nazi barbarism. The story has a bittersweet ending with Guido sacrificing his life to unite Joshua with his mother.
