Is Schooling responsibility of the State?

Where are we heading ? The standards are definitely falling...Even the CBSE which is better than the state boards,is planning to change the its pattern allowing an option for students of class 9 & 10th to take up higher & lower science n maths in terms of its complexity(levels) and also students have 4 attempts in 2yrs to clear their papers... Wat is happening?
Not only that even IITs plan to make their exams easier by just keeping an objective type entrance..We should definitely not allow this thing...

My vacation finally came to an end.n my coll life gonna start soon..am going to B'lore..
well abt wat i did in vacation ..Long one, wonderful places..Started with a short Mahabaleshwar trip..n then down south from tirupati Balaji to Tamil nadu to Kerala..
My first visit to Kerala..just loved the greenary..awesome..started feeling as to how my mallu friends leave kerala n stay in Bombay.The border Tamil nadu n Kerala..wow...cool place..nice breeze
Though it was an off season, we managed to c Elephants(2500) of them r thr..sure to c many in groups,Bison,Dears in Tekadi in d forest..Missed Munaar though :( ..due to land slide. but chalega isi bahane ill get a chance to go visit kerala again..

Life Is Beautiful,an Italian language film, tells the story of an Italian Jew (Guido) played by Roberto Benigni. Benigni plays a very simple person absorbed in his own world. He meets his fairy princess to whom he gets married and together they have a son Joshua. Then one day their life takes a sudden twist when Guido and Joshua are whisked away in a truck to a concentration camp. The central theme of the story unfolds at the camp with Guido trying to convince Joshua that everything happening around him is all part of a game. Eager to hide the realities of life in a concentration camp from Joshua, he creates a new reality. Guido explains to his son that he has to make 1000 points to win the tank that he always dreamt of. I saw Parineeta with *Vidya Balan* giving her good performance.A good movie..Good music..i did not like rekha though .Good i did not go for Kya Kool hain hum..pathetic movie saw d movie in cable for half an hour. could not tolerate anymore..God only knows how few of my classmates went for that movie after the last exams n a few liked it too :-o .
But we 3 of us my friends chose to just hang around the south bombay area.. which was anytime better than watching that movie.
These days i have been doing absolutely nothing except for wasting time...Thats wat am exactly doing these days get up late @ around 9am for sure not before that, also with the heavy rains in mumbai, am just too lazy to move out anywhere out of my house . I have been sticking on to the television watching anything that comes on ..i have been watching POGO channel, Star One ,and some "K" serials too..n Movies on the comp.
I liked Star One channel .I watched most of the serials .SARABHAI's been one of my favourites..I did feel that KHICHDI was a bit boring ( Pain to an extend ) it was better in starting episodes that i have seen.I liked SIDDHANT, wat else hmmm n the usual K serials ....toooo boring but forcefully made to watch these serials :( Also liked "THE GR8 INDIAN COMEDY SHOW" .It was worth watching some prog in DISCOVERY Channel.
Infact i have been lazy to such an extend that i have not been reading d blogs that i never missed a single posts even during my exams....i atleast used to scan through the blogs...woooo

A month back, a visit to a Mentally retarded and an Oldage Home, made me realize that i was so very lucky to be born as a very normal baby.I had this habit to generally crib about things(as many of us have)which i have stopped to quite an extend.This place is named as "PREM DAAN"which is situated in Airoli(Navi Mumbai) where u can actually see small mentally retired children ,it really got tears from my eyes.i was just feeling helpless.I did feel wat was i doing there...so many questions in my mind.Kids thr just come and hug u..Hats off to Mother Terrasa who really gave her life for the unknown..How much of us really can do that.Ok max most us would think abt donations but can we really go and help these ppl or such institutions.Donations also dont work unless we are assured that the money donated is being used for the same purpose.I also feel that nowadays u cannot quit ur job and do that but yes secure a proper financial background and help in our own wayzz.Each of us are so damn lucky to be the person that we are today.
Also the ppl working thr are doing a gr8 job.Thare are children who are very violent also.one really needs patience to do the job whole heartedly.
This also makes me to think abt Mercy Killing..Should it be legalised...Ok we can answer very easily a "YES" coz does the person really needs to lead a life thats so painful specially for a person above 60+ or the answer would be "NO" coz u might never know the person may come back and lead his own life.
There could be various situations where a possibility of a yes or no would suit.

A YES would If the person himself does not want to lead such a dreadful life
A NO because we should not leave hopes for the person,y give up hopes when Medical science is coming up.
Who has the right to take such a desicion at the first place( Persons near & dear ones)
Even if the desicion is made by the person himself, is he in the proper state of mind.

Somehow i feel it should not be legalised.but still sometimes when u come across such situations such pains it really makes u think if it should be legalised......

Am back here, had my exams almost for 17 days which is just tooo much, when all my friends( from other branches are done with their exams within 6 days)Its actually not the question of their papers getting done n but we are left with 4 more to go, its just that we had 4 days leave for 2 subjects which is really a break n we stop /take it very easily in d first two days n slog last two days..But now its over and big relief for me.
Filhaal i have a collection of CD'S with me and good i did not go for most of these movies in theatre except for one or two..Most of them are bakwass:(..

I came across this post----->Amit Verma's-India Uncut and Gaurav Sabnis's-Vantage Point post on Mumbai still being safer.
Agreed B'bay is a much more safer place to live in spc for women compared to Delhi,Lucknow (North),But things are getting worser.and this comparison is bewteen the bombay a few years back and now.
All u read everyday in newspapers is abt the rape cases. Rape of a 3 Yr a old Baby, a 15 yr old boy raping a 13 yr old girl .Again in todays paper u read abt one more rape case. They are not hyped out.its become so very often thesedays.

Does the case of constable More itself does not prove that its not safe?
The girl would have had no idea as to wat was gonna happen.Not in a police station atleast.It’s just that this Case of Constable More that has made to think if mumbai is still safe becoz its been like oiling a lamp in the recent cases happening in mumbai
N its not true that women are not humiliated in crowded buses or its overdone after this incident.Its always been thr n women knws how to deal such situations.Its also true that even Men have to go through the humiliations in crowded trains..Donno if its true..But heard a lot.
Things are getting bad in bombay also.(Not to the extend in delhi for sure).
Minor girl being raped in trains..Now that’s not called safe.
Question rising here now is Women really safe in Indai.Read here
Who is to be blamed for all this the movies? the remix songs? the too much exposure thats done these days.
watever be the reason, a women would still think twice if she has to come all alone at 12am midnite becuase it has made an impact(fear) in ppl mind in Bombay.

My Vivas are over including my project presentation..,all of my friends enjoyed the day as if our final exams are over.No wonder Orals are Big time tension.Proff knw very well that its all in their hands:D.
We went to Fashion street (Where u njoy bargaining:))) then Marine Drive...aaaaah such a nice place...the Cool breeze..wow..
ah that reminds of the Rape case that happened.Sad:(..
Such cases have really made ppl think if its really safe staying in Mumbai?
Mumbai is one of the place where u can move even at 11pm safely.U can still find ppl moving around at that time.Not really that tension..
Also a yr ago, a girl being raped in the train (Borivili Train) really make us think wheres Mumbai going???

My Brother Nikhil

Today all of a sudden we made a plan of going for a movie.Vaise we had decided for Page 3 But then we were already late for it,so then it was My Brother Nikhil..A must watch movie...A very simple theme but was worth watching.Thr wasn't much crowd though(The theatre was almost empty),but i guess most ppl would not like it.
Its somewhat similar to the movie where shilpa sheety plays a role where in she gets affected by AIDS (now i dont remember the movies name) and how ppl change their attitude towards them...the only difference being it was now n Bro Nikhil is in old 80's which makes the big difference.
Very touching movie:( Also Sanjay suri being one of my fav actors....
One can take many learning from this movie

Finally my Internship is over...Feels gr8..I have been waiting for it to get over.It was getting too boring in d end, spc when my exams are nearing by..Not that i never enjoyed my training period, it has overall been an excellent experience.New ppl to deal with,people with different attitudes(Workers,executives,manager n my trainee friends).I learnt many things in my own way.Ups and downs have always been there.
Got some kind of attachment though:(def gonna miss my friends thr)...but i guess thats how life is....
Will write about my experiences in detail sometime later.

Am so happy today. i actually meet my good old friend Miss Vajpayee ((Via e mail))..But its such a good thing that we are in contact almost after 4 yrs.exactly when we met before our engg and now again when we are gonna paas out.
We were together actually we r 3 of us myself,kalika n srividya.We met in S.I.E.S where we had taken admission for BSC Statistics n as usual the class was overcrowded as most students just join to do timepass till the engg admission processes start atleast.we had a goood time around 3 months in ths college.We did nothing except LUKHAGIRI.:d.
we had a blast in those 3 months. n it was the same time around when DCH was released which was a big hit,Coll students njoying life,n since we were new in college we also had the josh to do some stupid things.we did take some pangah mmm not exactly panga but something that seniors did knw that these galks r from Ediv. n the best part was few seniors were from my place i me
an Central side i mean Thana n Mulund. Gawwwd i used to escape whenever i saw any of them in the station;))
Ahh but then again most time we bunked roaming here n thr Rite from Hajil ali-Mahalakshmi temple-Priyadarshini Park-- n lots in those rainy days in june purposely leaving the umbrella in home......wow..n loads of masti.
Good old memories.n i have no clue as to wat my other friend srividya is being doing. as i went to MHSS n sri to RAIT n kalika to VJTI. we lost contact , but now we do plan to meet up again after out final sem n refresh our memories..only diff being we will be havingg a BE degree this timee,an a lil more maturity now:)

Vada Pav vs Mc Donald’s Burger

Mumbai’s masala hot spicy vada pav also called as Batata vada. Vada pav stall found in every corner of Bombay. Its an indispensable part of street food culture in Mumbai.A simple,tasty dish that most youngsters not only them everyone have be it in college,office anywhere. A dish,thats really light on the budget just around Rs 5/-available easily at anytime of the day and which is quite filling, Specially for the people who are in hurry and want a quick bite.
Vada pav basically a Maharashtrain recipe, with all mashed potatos generally served with green chillis or green chutni. In short its Mumbai’s Hamburger/Desi Hamburger,no less than that.

Burger…very much like a sandwich though quite different from a it..A burger generally consits of bun like bread(round in shape), cheese and with some fillings in it generally vegetables in case of a veg burger, and is costly in comparison with a desi burger.

The one big difference i would say between a vada pav and a burger would be the hygienic part of it as to how they are made. but nowadays vada pav have also been taken up as a big business and jumbo Vada (Jumbo King) has already been introduced year and a half ago in Bombay and its doing quite well coz people don’t don’t mind paying a lil more if they are getting better quality.
“I want to replicate it with vada pav, the Indian version.” Says Dheeraj Gupta.

I guess most people would go for a vada pav than a burger,atleast I would .

am back after having a good time...All i did is had Masti n no studies( yahan tak ki i bunked my office, Classes). afterall my brother was here for Only 18days.....Anywayzzz we had a good time.. right from the Choclates , Dresses n wat not everything n anything i demanded n he got me..So sweet of my Brother:) aur is sab ke saath hamara jhagda bhi hota tha par agar bhai behan me jhagda n ho to kya baat hai:d ..
Everything has to come to an end, so woh US chalagaya aur jaldi padai khatam karde... all our wishes r with him.

I saw Black today(was supposed to see it with my Mom on Valentines day) but aaj hi dekh liyaa..i Liked the movie....kaafi touching tha. Par mujhe lagta hai ki Mr Sahai shouldn't have returned then it would have been still better..but finally Movie hain so it was okay..they had to end it somehow..

Five Point Someone.....Read this book a week back. Its written by an IITian from Delhi.its abt how they(3 friends) slogged(actually wasted n not slogged).
Its a Tp book..as i really wanted to read it becoz the feedback given to this book are very good and its also been mentioned in the lacal papers.Its written in a very normal language(the way ppl speak in coll)
Its clearly tels u abt abt wat guyzz think:D Typical guyzz:))
The book is been appreciated by everyone n soon a film will be released by Dec'05.

Hello ppl,
I am having a good time these days, My schedule is something like get up aaram se go to company with not much responsibilities (so no tension), Come back for my class n finally have my dinner n Sleep Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Thats all i have been doing for a month or so n no Value adding stuff, will have to get back to discipline soon, coz exams ke liye padna padega have to get a first class this time atleast n not Get a 55% n get a 2nd class...
I had been to Mood Indigo. a couple of days back,AMAZING place IIT.Wonderful Place, ....I can go on n on abt the IITians..Wish i would be thr as a student in IITB sometime (MAY BE MY NEXT BIRTH).Anywayzzzzzzz i attended the classical instrment thr..superbbbbbbb players most from SIES, OUR south indian gumbal...Proud to be one among them:D
i have recorded a few playing the violin, will try uploading them soon..
n Cha Cha Cha workshop was ok....but the instructor was too good...but somehow i liked Salsa More than Cha Cha Cha....
wanted to attend Hariharan's concert but sad i could not had my classes on the very same day...

My Dept..Prod 2005 Batch

The pic seen is my class...we will graduate in 2005 ....
we had celebrated teachers Day n also combining a send off party for our beloved Raghupati Sir, though he retired 12 years back but he still used to teach us...amazing man..(though we never attended his lecture) actually we never attend any lecture properly..everyone sits in the class only for attendance sake..(exceptions always there)
it was like a party for us..we will leaving coll in a month or so.. n then never that class enviroment again....also we heard that our juniors r planning to give us a party...
However bad be the relationship is b/w us n our prof, but we felt really nice on 5 th sep...our profs were also happy
n I n my friend Mont. compered the prog..it was all on the spot decided.. but the prog was a hit..Our HOD was happy n everybody believes that we will be getting a good marks in the ORAL EXAMS..:D
The prof also like our batch thats wat they said bcoz its unique (bcoz of the strength)only 24 guyz n 4 girls...followed we had our fest which was on the 9 th n the 10 th...i realized how much efforts need to be put for organizing any event..(needs proper planning ) n obviously support from all the organizers..final year students decide all the events n juniors help us..it was also good..but the bad thing is that the quality of our certificates..anywayzz we cannot do anything now...

Def the answer would be a”Yes” if u ask me considering the health hazards caused by the nicotine. Also it’s so bad for the people around get health problem (passive smokers). This topic came to my mind just because most guys in my class smoke. Godddd just cant tolerate when ppl smoke and enter in an Air Conditioned room.
Smoking.uhhh…Disgusting.Donno y people smoke. This actually gets the thought y don’t we actually ban smoking. Y does the government not charge or fine when one smokes (when they have starting a fine for the people who don’t were their helmet). Smoking contains Nicotine, which is not good for health, and then people still get addicted to it! Health hazards due to Tobacco

How much Profit do we earn from a tobacco company or a cigarettes/cigar company? And the best part is: Cigarette packet warning signs. They have been implemented as an effort to enhance the public's knowledge about the dangers of smoking. In general they try to emphasize the same messages?.

On the contrary one would say that Tobacco companies contribute in a lot of way. In terms of manufacturing, agriculture, and employment. But we still need to remember they def do not contribute to out health sectors. But they have a major impact on the economic growth of our country. Thus we need to c as how much profit we earn from these companies, and what would be the impact if we decide to terminate these companies and may be we could invest it in a better way which would not be health hazardous.

This is how my days starts with the ganesha prayer......
but nowadays i have become so lazy that i get up late..n ultimately have to rush to catch my train(so i end praying on the way to the station ,in the train),coz if i leave my train,i am dead then ,coz it gets crowded...i have a fixed train that i catch everyday to coll..n i manage to get a seat in the train:)
other trains r already crowded with ppl trying to get in to a already filled train (imagine ppl standing near the bar)n on top u find ppl singing songs,some bhajans,cracking jokes..am not againts it but one will definitely get bugged when u even dont have a proper place to stand..n ppl do take revenge also..this happens in the ladies atleast i donno abt male compartment...ladies see to it that the other women gets her message next time she gets into the same train....its funny
but i guess thats how b'bay life is....Fast...Really Fat moving..
i wanna change my lifestyle,may be something diff than B'bay life..may be i should go to my hometown or may be a proper village ) for a change..

I Have started my Music Classes agaiN..Feels really good. music is one thing which i have always wanted to do..i have always dreamt of being in a group i mean joining a band...my bad luck nothing worked out till now..got a few offers but as i said it did not work....we actually few ppl met in a inter coll fest n were enthu making a band but all of us from diff coll n diff years n branch:(..but if i keep practicing i always have a chance..
we have a small group in our coll we all practice together during fest..thats it. coz our coll does not permit us to do it on regular days..
i would not worked anywayzz coz we dont have a drummer, n most importantly my friend in coll DON plays western more than Indian..i mean he likes english n i like the Hindi n Tamil ones..i just started listening to tamil songs..(i never took the initiative to listen to the tamil songs but nowadays i take the pain to understand what the lyrics mean)
this is one more thing where ppl differ few listen to the songs becoz the like the wordings n few like me go with the music..

also i always had a fight with my bro as to Hindustani is better than Carnatic.. wrt to certain RAGAS n always prefered tabla for MRIDANGAM
but now i realize the importance of mridangam...:)
Also i realized that i wasted my 6 years doing nothing in the name of studies n not contining my music side by side..but now i have no plans to delaying them..
i started with MOHANAM varnam again coz my vadyar has follows a lalgudi's style n i changed my teacher twice so i mixed up everything...it is difficult to change the fingerings am trying my best (its not impossible)

I am not placed in Godrej n was upset abt it coz i was not shortlisted..but after 2 days i get to know the guyz in my class had already got the paper before the test..
now that was really bad...we 4 gals in a class of 29 were feeling leftout,but anywayzzz it does not matter.the fact is am not selected, may be something better than Godrej is yet to come...
i felt a lil better ..(i was actually feeling shameful when i was not selected).started thinking abt if my basics were so bad??but they r not that bad...SOM is ok.but i have to improve my TOM ka fundas (gears mechanism)
lets c finally where am gonna land up..its definitely not LNT:( coz they want a NO LIVE OR DEAD KT and a 60% right from the first sem...not me..
Currently listening to Nila kaayuvadu............lovely song...ppl should really listen to this song...
Anjali Anjali Pushpaaanjali....,Ennavale adi ennavale wow(unnikrishnan's voice is too good)few of my fav songs..( though i never used to listen to tam songs) but even the Rahman songs r more soothing when u listen to the tam version....

Myself confused.i did not get shortlisted for Godrej:(
I feel like everything around me is going wrong...just spelling out things thats going on in my mind right now.N i think this is the best place.
My perparations r not going well.have got a serious dout now if i should be giving my CAT now or should i be giving it next year..
also got a dout if i was really interested in management.am i fit for it.. or am just following the junta???

Being in the final year, n thought constantly coming into my mind as to i will be thrown out of my college next year huh..... :(
wat am i going to do after that? 9 to 5 job..(let me a get a job first).wat will it be like..better than college life n lottttts of questions in my mind wandering. feels like for this reason,ishould do my higher studies:D n remain a student for some more time..Wat will life be when ur actually working n getting to know wat the real world is outside.Man this is wat have been continuously thinking ..life is getting serious at this point of time.
few of my classmates preparing for GRE, n a few GATE, n a few like me for CAT.
(though i have to slog very much).
Where will i be after 1year....????only question marks in my mind.

Hii.....am Vidzz..very new to the world of blogging...doing my enggineering n have plans to do my mgmt..
Myself (Vids) an Production engineering student, will be doing my interns soon.i am basically an Ambivert neither an introvert nor an extrovert.In short i have both the tendencies at different times, diff moods or occasions.Theres still lots of thing that am confused about myself , i guess nobody knows oneself completely. As my nature swings like a pendulum, i prove to be a perfect Geminian or is it the vice-versa.This would also be proved as i might divert from one topic to another.
I have spent my life completely in Bombay, Enjoy travelling in the crowded trains(Or saying that i dont have any other option would be a better way) till my college 30 kms up and down..uhhh..God cant beleive i did that.. my college which happens to be in between Bombay Central & Byculla.My coll MHSS.I am not a studious type of person,alwayz study in the end(Exam time) and take all the possible unnecessary tension under the sun.Thatz how its been going uptil now.But i have been improving everytime, as in my marks,getting confident and not taking the unwanted tensions.
As a person am Confident, but somewhat worry about unwanted stuff.
My Mom's a House Maker, and my dad a production engg too...ahh dont get it wrong as to i am following my dad's footstep,nothing like that. N most importantly my Brother ,sweetest, cutest person :* Hes a very dedicated ,commited person and we are completely opposite.
Well talking about my Hobbies, i have keen interest in Music,have been learning music professionally also learnt Violin to some extend.also like trecking and lotssssss...They actually keep changing,often according to my moods i start of with new things and land up leaving them in between..:(
Finaaly like to say am a happy go Lucky person,Njoy life and get stressed later(Spc EXAMS) and mostly importantly a lil talkative in nature:).
Still feel like am a Mystery to myself.
